Offshore goods trade gains ground

Statistics released by the government yesterday show earnings from offshore trade - goods bought and sold or brokered through Hong Kong which did not pass through the SAR - increased 21.2 per cent in 2000 to HK$84.6 billion. In the same year, services exports grew 13.8 per cent to HK$317.6 billion.
