British duo The Chemical Brothers deliver the first gig of their Asian tour at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre tonight. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons met at Manchester University in 1989 - the heyday of the 'Madchester scene'. The duo started DJing together as The Dust Brothers and upon graduation moved to London and embarked on a series of successful club nights in a venue housed in a railway arch under London Bridge. By 1994, they had released a record which punched through the divide between 1990s alternative rock and dance music. In six months they remixed tracks by Primal Scream, the Charlatans, Saint Etienne, the Prodigy and Manic Street Preachers and by 1997 their album Dig Your Own Hole earned them their first No 1. The track Block Rockin' Beats won them best rock instrumental at the American Grammy Awards and the pair enjoy global popularity. They come to Asia to promote their latets album, Come With Us, a futuristic mesh of break beats and tribal rhythms. Groove and Dancemix organise the event which can accommodate 6,000 people, with standing-room only. Today, 8.30pm. Hall C, Hong Kong Convention And Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai. $480-$680 Ticketek
