Going Public

World, 8.30pm

It's May 2000 and a secret meeting between the owners of seven Apple computer dealerships from all over Australia decides that instead of cutting each other's throats with price wars, they can merge their stores and make each other rich.

Almost overnight the group - including George Mekrizis, Robert Kloester and David Ford (all above) - would create a A$200-million (HK$840-million) corporation, which was then floated on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Going Public is a four-part documentary which goes behind closed doors to follow the group's fortunes.
