Business-automation software specialist Systems Union, buoyed by its return to profitability last year, is accelerating expansion plans across China as more mainland firms deploy advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Systems Union's Asia-Pacific chief executive Ashley Clarke said the company would launch a research, development and marketing hub in Shanghai by December, and tighten partnerships with about 30 distribution channels in the mainland.
Although financial details were not disclosed, Systems Union is pushing for a multi-year investment that will help it effectively tap the growing ERP market in the mainland.
'Our market potential is huge because we have a solution that is nimbler than other products in addressing present and future ERP requirements of companies of all sizes,' Mr Clarke said.
Targeted industries include hospitality, financial services, retail, professional services, oil and gas, and manufacturing.
After posting a GBP106.6 million (about HK$1.31 billion) loss in 2000, the company regrouped to generate GBP78.4 million turnover last year and a net profit after tax of GBP2 million.
