The Wind

This drama - performed by the Joint School Performing Arts Alliance (a non-profit organisation aimed at promoting friendship between the Hong Kong True Light College, True Light Girl's College, Wah Yan College and Ying Wa College) - is set in a walk-up building in the 1960s. It follows the historical events of 1962's typhoon Wanda, the water restrictions of 1963, the suicide of actress Linda Lin Dai in 1964 and the economic crisis of the latter part of the decade. La Sylphide

The Hong Kong Ballet Group's annual major production is the tale of a Scotsman who falls in love with a woodland fairy. Acclaimed 1830s dancer August Bournonville first choreographed this ballet which became a classic of the Romantic period. Bournonville also turned another folk dance into the ballet Napoli, from which Pas De Six is also on the programme. The performance features National Ballet Of China's principal dancer and ballet master, Xu Gang, and Singapore Dance Theatre principal dancer Tasha Wong. Aug 31, 7.30pm. Sep 1, 2.30pm.
