Broadcasting chief admits 'contradictions'

Director of Broadcasting Chu Pui-hing yesterday admitted that there were 'contradictions' of the role of RTHK between being a media organisation and being a publicly-funded broadcaster.

But he denied any wrongdoing by his staff for making a failed attempt to interview Taiwan's Vice-President Annette Lu Hsiu-lien last week in an entertainment programme, saying there were established rules and guidelines for producers to follow. He said the station's operation was the same as other media organisations.
