THE Far East Express (FEX) service, jointly operated by Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), offers the fastest transit time of 10 and 11 days between Keelung, Kaohsiung and Los Angeles respectively.
According to Seascope, a NYK newsletter, the service was inaugurated by the NYK Springtide on June 25.
Transit times from Bangkok and Manila via Kaohsiung also saw times cut to 18 and 24 days respectively.
The service time of the Singapore-California Express (SCX) service between Singapore and Los Angeles is now down to 16 days and from Hong Kong is 12 days, a day less than before from both locations.
From the US West Coast to Japan and Southeast Asia, Seattle was added as the last port of call in both the SCX and FEX services. An addition to the westbound SCX service is the call at Nagoya.
