Stone, paper, Rainbow Bar

Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino was spotted in a heated pre-dawn stone-paper-scissor contest outside a bar in Beijing's Sanlitun district.

The contest pitted the Pulp Fiction director (left), in Beijing filming scenes from his new project Kill Bill, against a local bar owner, with the winner deciding the location of the next drink.

'It was a close match,' said the SAR mole in the Tarantino entourage. 'But Quentin had the advantage of a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm. He showed superior technique and great concentration.'

With the sun beginning to rise, the Oscar-winner emerged triumphant and everyone, including his opponent, piled into his black hire car and bombed off towards The Rainbow Bar, Tarantino's venue of choice - in the wrong direction.
