Information technology investor Softbank Investment International (Strategic) has acquired almost 30 per cent of an imaging software company for HK$22.5 million.

The company invested in Supresoft Imagis, a fast-growing technology firm based in Beijing that develops software for mapping and geo-spatial information systems.

Softbank chief executive Wong Sin-just said further acquisitions were in the pipeline as the company sought to focus on mainland investment.

'We expect to conclude at least two investments in the near future. They are companies with a mainland focus,' he said, adding one of them specialised in travel and tourism.

Set up in 1996, Supresoft counts utilities, transport operators, governments and telecommunications companies as its main customers.
