12 arrested in swoop on soccer gambling

Police last night launched an anti-soccer gambling operation two weeks after the start of the English Premier League.

At least two illegal bookmaking syndicates were smashed following the arrests of 12 people at betting centres in six districts. More than $7 million worth of bets were seized.
