Time And Value

The online art site, which has a physical space at the Airport Express concourse in Central, launches its latest exhibition of works by Hoosen Abdul Ganni. The Toronto-based artist who was born and raised in Hong Kong, worked as an art director for several film and television companies in the SAR and emigrated to Canada in 1996, where he now lives and works. Ganni's latest series of paintings examines the 'stories hidden behind simple objects'. He aims to show that every object is imbued with its own 'mysteries of nature, life, death or love'. Trigg

Trigg (aka Stuart Allen) has been a contributing cartoonist with the Post since 1987. His works have been published in the Chinese language press and have illustrated 60 books. He exhibits 31 acrylic paintings at the Red Door Fine Art Gallery. These 'loopy characters who inhabit the world of the farm and field' are realised in bright, clean colours and thick textured surfaces. Open daily 10am-8pm. Timeless Passion

Hong Kong-based Danish-born artist Henriette Christensen loves to paint the female form. She says: 'I have painted almost since the day I could walk and for some reason I always end up painting women - women I admire, women I am fascinated by, even women I despise. I choose to believe this is because of all the different feelings a woman can awaken in the human body and mind.' This is Christensen's first solo exhibition. Music & Meditation

Sahaja Yoga Hong Kong is presenting an evening of music and meditation at the Central Library on Sunday evening. Sahaja Yoga hails from India and is widely practised around the world. The Hong Kong society has been offering free classes to the public at City Hall, and on Sunday it introduces live music to proceedings. Bahjans (devotional folk music) from different parts of India are sung in Sanskrit, Hindi and Marathi, and played on the harmonium, a bellows-operated keyboard, traditional drums, percussion and guitars. The Last Laugh

New Yorkers Pat Candaras and Artie Fletcher headline this week's Last Laugh comedy night. Candaras is author of the one-woman show Grandmotherf*****, which had its premiere at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and shocks audiences with her rants about religion, marriage, debt, love, shopping and sex. She comes from a Brooklyn family of 16 and spent 23 years suffering through 'corporate America'. Fletcher has been a bus driver, bartender and ballroom dancer and his high-energy, in-your-face style has made him a favourite in his native city. Fri-Sat, 9pm. Toastmasters Champions Of The Champions

Whether you're a budding best man with a speech to prepare, a nervous wreck with a presentation to make, or a quiet creature with an urge to communicate with the masses, a forthcoming event hosted by the Hong Kong Toastmasters might be the answer. The first Toastmasters club was founded in the United States in 1924, with the aim of bettering communication skills in speaking, listening and thinking. The first Hong Kong chapter was opened 1954. On Saturday, a showcase of champion speakers from Hong Kong who have made it to the Pan Southeast Asia District contests in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand and who come from all walks of life, will be performing their winning speeches and sharing with the audience the secrets of their success.
