AIDS tests reveal 25 new cases
COMPULSORY AIDS testing of foreign workers in Macau's entertainment industry had been justified by the discovery of 25 new HIV carriers between last November and April, the enclave's health authority said yesterday.
Macau had found only 12 people with full-blown AIDS or the HIVvirus before all workers imported for saunas, nightclubs and massage parlours were required to be examined every three months, or their work permits would not be renewed.
All but two of the new cases were female.
