Sour grapes are part of life when you keep a high profile in Hong Kong society, and socialite Kai-bong Chau knows it well. After a CNN interview featuring Chau and his wife Brenda clad in traditional Chinese dress was broadcast last week, a socialite approached Chau at a party to have a dig at him. According to Chau, the 'not-so-famous socialite' mentioned in a sarcastic tone that she saw him and Brenda wearing old-fashioned garb during the interview. When Chau asked what she thought of the interview, the woman replied: 'Just negative.' It turned out that the socialite had taken only a glance at the couple's appearance on the morning show, without paying attention to what they were discussing. 'We were talking about how much we loved Hong Kong. She didn't even know what we had said, and how could she say it was negative?' Chau remarked to SAR. 'She is just a sour grape. No one would ever ask her to do an interview because she's not well-known enough. I wasn't trying to show off by wearing traditional dress. But I have to keep some sort of glamour when giving an interview.'
