Debutant Good Prosperity (race two) is by the sprint and mile favouring sire Mukaddamah and is a full-brother to a pair of early maturing sprint winners in Australia. In the same race, the other first-time starter Keen Flyer is by the promising young stallion Honour And Glory - formerly a top sprinter-miler in America and already the sire of champion Caressing - nicked with the unraced Last Tycoon mare Indian Bazaar, the dam of a two-year-old winner from her only other foal. From a speed-orientated family, Keen Flyer is also bred to be an early maturing type.

From a good black-type family, debutant Sensible Advice (race three) is a half-brother to English Group Three sprint winner Circle Of Gold and Listed sprint winner Crystal Crossing. His second dam is Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Favoletta. By the successful Group One mile and 2,000-metre winner Spectrum, this individual has a good mixture of speed with stamina. The other debutant in the race is Honour Supreme, who is by the productive and speed influential sire Gold Brose out of a sister to Perth Cup (NZ-G1) winner Phizam. A similar breeding of Gold Brose to a Western Symphony mare in the past has resulted in Joan's Best, a multiple Listed and five-time southern hemisphere winner up to 1,400 metres.

The usefully bred King's Patrol (race five) is a son of speed influential sire Night Shift mated to American black-type placed mare Shelbiana, a daughter of Grade One winner Taken Aback. The dam's 10th foal, King's Patrol is a full-brother to the French Group-placed, 1,200-metre winner Elle Est Revenue and a half-brother to Alluring, a Group Two-placed mile winner at The Curragh.

Happy Valley debutant Packing Angel (race four) is a half-brother to multiple winners Millennium Spirit and Billion Delight, both capable runners over an off track and at the city oval.
