Wharf's retail innovation set for Ocean Terminal
LCX, a subsidiary of Wharf (Holdings), says it will open the first phase of its Lifestyle Concept X store at Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui next month.
The first phase, occupying a net 80,000 square feet on Level 3 of Ocean Terminal, would be divided into five zones - fashion and accessories, American-style casual wear, beauty products, food and beverages, and hip fashion brands.
The second phase, consisting of 220,000 sq ft net, was scheduled for completion in the second half of next year, the firm said.
In between the two phases of the Hong Kong development, the company plans to launch LCX in China, including stores in Beijing and Chongqing.
'The new retail format, designed by the well-known Takenaka Corp combining a shopping mall and department store concept, is to combine the best of Japanese and US shopping mall models to create a perfect shopping environment for Hong Kong shoppers,' said Thomson Cheng, a director of LCX.
'We were inspired by our frequent travels to different shopping destinations across the globe. This new retail format transcends traditional boundaries with a barrier-free shopping environment, making it unlike any other retail destination in Hong Kong.'
