Her skin is white as snow, her hair is black as ebony and her lips are red as blood . . . but that's where the resemblance ends between the fairytale Snow White and a new film that relocates the classic Brothers Grimm story to 1890s China.
Top local action choreographer Yuen Wo-ping has been approached to direct the Disney movie, which will feature a high-kicking, kung fu-fighting Snow White on the run in China from her wicked stepmother in Hong Kong.
The seven dwarfs also get a mainland make-over, appearing as seven baton-wielding Shaolin monks, according to movie magazine Variety.
Yuen, who choreographed the action on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Matrix, has not confirmed he will take on the project. If he does, we predict a grisly end for the witch.
