I notice that the lane markings at the northernmost exit from the Aberdeen Tunnel have recently been changed in a rather curious manner.

The right-hand lane now has a left-hand kink in it immediately after leaving the tunnel, which has been created by moving the lane markings on the left and the concrete barrier on the right. This kink is repeated in the left-hand lane. Traffic in either lane now has to veer first left and then right on exiting the tunnel in order to go straight ahead.
Has this been done in order to accommodate drivers influenced by the lane-changing Mercedes TV advertisements, or is it just an accident waiting to happen?
