I have heard a group of really serious frisbee players who meet up in Hong Kong and even have frisbee tournaments. Is this true? How can I get in touch with them?

Frisbee fan

write@ttitude says: You are thinking of Ultimate Frisbee. It's a non-contact sport that is big in the United States and has made its way to Hong Kong. The team meet Wednesdays (So Kon Po) and Sundays (Tai Hang To) (check their Web site for details and directions: www.hkupa.com). Organisers say the game combines elements of soccer, football and basketball - but instead of a ball they use a frisbee. Newcomers are welcome. Participants should be at least 14 - if you are under 14, bring a parent. And yes, they do have tournaments, the next one is the Pan Asia Tournament on November 2-3.

I am an aspiring writer. I have just finished school and am working on my first novel. It is about life in Hong Kong. How can I get it published? I don't know any other writers and am not sure if I'm even doing the right stuff. All I know is I want to be a writer.

Aspiring writer

write@ttitude says: Good for you, but be prepared for a tough slog. The life of a writer has its ups and downs. And getting a book published, particularly fiction, is not easy. But before you approach a publisher, you would be well advised to get feedback on your novel. Ask a former teacher, friend or family member to read the book. Writing is a solitary pursuit, but you need not go it alone. The Asian Writers' Circle, run by the well-informed and helpful Lawrence Gray, is a good place to head for support.
