A knife-wielding robber held his victim hostage and dragged her naked into the street in an attempt to escape police during a standoff in Sheung Shui yesterday.
The incident occurred after a robbery went awry in a one-woman brothel in San Shing Avenue at 2.30pm.
Police said the 39-year-old suspect, who posed as a client, pulled a knife and declared robbery after entering the unit.
He threatened the 39-year-old sex worker and ordered her to take off her clothes.
Meanwhile, police were called to the unit by a prostitute who spotted the man and suspected he might be the man who robbed and raped another sex worker in the area in the morning.
'When officers arrived, the man refused to open the door. Officers kicked open the door and the man held the naked woman hostage,' a police source said. 'Three officers drew their guns and ordered the man to drop his knife, but the robber ignored them.'
