Hong Kong: The world's fastest woman, Marion Jones, will not be coming to Hong Kong as planned today. Disappointed organisers behind her first appearance in the SAR said Jones had cancelled her visit because of a severe case of flu. 'She has postponed her visit to later,' said spokesperson Wendy Yung. 'We don't know as yet when she will be coming and can't confirm dates now.'
Jones, the first female track and field athlete to win five medals at a single Olympics, was to take part in a whirlwind series of events that included a training session with athletes at the Hong Kong Sports Institute in Sha Tin. She was to be accompanied by Tim Montgomery, the world's fastest man, who is also her boyfriend. Swiss watchmakers Tag Heuer were sponsoring her visit.
