Perhaps our lack of imagination is to blame. A Hong Kong UFO Club lecture series scheduled for this week has been cancelled because only two people signed up. The talks were to cover how tai chi was brought to Earth by extraterrestrials, among other topics. But the club is undaunted. It will screen videos at the Cattle Depot Arts Village in To Kwa Wan next year, featuring close encounters of the alien kind. One is the story of Swiss farmer Billy Meier, who claims to have had more than 700 meetings with beings from the Pleiades since 1975. 'It doesn't matter whether it's true,' says the club's Joe Wong. 'It may help stimulate your imagination and make you think the world is quite exciting.' X Files fans, eat your hearts out.
