Detective denies taking bribe from defendant

Detective constable Li Po-kowk, 38, in Kowloon City Court yesterday denied accepting $5,000 from a defendant, Yuen Chi-wing, as payment for helping him in a police investigation of alleged blackmail and triad offences.

Magistrate Ernest Lim Kam-hung adjourned the case to November 14, releasing Li on $10,000 bail.
