It's time for you to be creative and daring. Soft-drink cans, photos and plastic sheets . . . almost anything you can think of can be used to make a school uniform in a fashion design competition.

The 'I Love My School' competition, organised by the YMCA, is inviting students to submit creative designs for school uniforms.

Winning designs will be modelled on the catwalk next year.

'We want students to have fun with school uniforms,' said Sandy Chan Man-yee, who is in charge of the contest.

'The designs don't have to be practical. We want to give students a chance to express their ideal school life through their designs.'

Ms Chan hopes the competition will encourage students to try something different and open their minds.

'There are many restrictions to school uniforms,' she said.
