Man tries to throw girlfriend from high-rise before jumping to his death

A man twice tried to throw his girlfriend from a high-rise block of flats before leaping to his death yesterday.

The drama began when driver Wong Hon-sang, 22, returned to his home in Wan Cheuk House, Sha Kok Estate, to find his girlfriend, 18, was out. When she returned he dragged her into the 15th floor corridor. He tried to throw her over the railings but was stopped by his mother. Wong then dragged his girlfriend to the lift and went to the 27th floor, where he again tried to throw her over but she clung to the railings. When residents came out and shouted at Wong, he leapt to his death.
