Macau welcomes more hotel guests

Macau, with a population of 438,000, recorded 2.31 million hotel guests in the nine months to September, a 14.2 per cent increase on last year. It received 238,709 guests in September, 45 per cent of them mainland Chinese, 39.6 per cent Hong Kong citizens and 5.7 per cent Taiwanese. The average hotel occupancy rate was 63 per cent, up 6.8 percentage points on the same month last year.
