Movie mogul Sir Run Run Shaw is throwing a star-packed gala party tonight to celebrate the remastering and release of classics from the past 50 years of Hong Kong cinema. But as soon as we are done congratulating the 95-year-old movie mogul, SAR will be looking to kow-tow before our other bald hero - 'Master Killer' kung fu artist Gordon Liu Chia-hui (below). Liu's 1978 classic The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin is one of the many movies being remastered and re-aired. The film, showing at Causeway Bay's JP cinema next week, is regarded by fans as a kung fu masterpiece. It not only defined bald as cool, but launched a whole genre of Shaolin monk films, and 25 years later prompted US director Quentin Tarantino to give Liu a part in his chop-socky homage Kill Bill.
