THE NAME'S YUNE, RICK YUNE. This Asian-American model-turned-actor is 007's adversary in the 40th-anniversary Bond movie, Die Another Day, which has its world premiere in London on Friday.
But when I meet him, Yune, 30, is waiting in the wings at London's Pinewood Studios, where a scene is being shot inside an imaginary London gentleman's club called Blades, whose walls bristle with ceremonial swords.
The romance of fencing has been added to the usual Bond blend of guns, girls, gadgets and exotic locations. The cast list features John Cleese, Dame Judi Dench and Halle Berry. But the man at the centre of the action is an actor voted sexiest man alive in a 2001 People magazine poll - Pierce Brosnan.
Retiring from trouncing a rival in a ferocious, grunting fencing bout, the 50-year-old confronts the world's media with the announcement that he is 'cut, blistered, nicked, chewed-up'.
After some tame talk about daring stunts involving fireballs, he addresses a question about whether he wanted to change the nature of the Bond character thus: 'Bull****!'
Probed about whether he relates to 007, Brosnan grinds his teeth and hisses: 'I like the character. I hate the questions . . . I don't want to answer the questions. I hate the ******* questions - they drive me insane.
