Every day we see news reports of more violence in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. So many people die and many more are seriously injured.
Whenever I learn of yet another incident, I ask myself why these things happen.
Because of religious differences, these two groups of people keep fighting. Surely religion is all about promoting peace and tranquillity on Earth? When did religion become an excuse for war?
I am from Malaysia, a country where there are many different types of people and customs - Chinese, Malays, Indians, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists. Yet in spite of this diversity, we live in harmony. Also, having studied in an international school for more than 10 years, I can see how easy it is for people from every continent to bond and become part of a big 'family'.
It is time we all set aside our religious and racial differences and became better citizens.
