BANK CARD THIEF HAS A WAY WITH NUMBERS

A man who pleaded guilty to stealing $160,000 from a expatriate's bank account told a court he guessed the bank card password in one go. Kwong Chun-hwa, 34, pleaded guilty to 17 counts of theft and four counts of attempted theft when he appeared in Tsuen Wan Court. He stole a bank card from a foreigner outside a bank in Mui Wo on April 9. Kwong withdrew $40,000 over the next two days and also bought Octopus cards valued at $120,000. He was identified from bank video recordings of the transactions. The case was adjourned to December 6 for sentencing.
