A group of high-spirited young people hoping to become the next Jan Lamb Hoi-fung or GC Goo-Bi (Vincci Cheuk Wan-chi) will battle it out next month for the entry ticket to the competitive broadcasting industry.
The 10 candidates will take part in the Eighth Generation DJ Graduation Ceremony, the final round of the Eighth Generation DJ Contest organised by Commercial Radio Two at Academic Community Hall on December 4, when they will stage various performances.
The winner may get a chance to work with their favourite DJs. Past winners include the popular Sammy (Leung Chi-kin) and Siu Yeah Jim (Jim Yan Chi-hong).
Crystal Yeung Yuk-ching, a 14-year-old student, is one of the candidates selected from more than 2,000 interviewees on two recruiting days organised by the radio station last month.
Having passed tests on their creativity, imagination, voice and their ability to express themselves, the aspiring DJs were given training in broadcasting.
They also had the opportunity to go on air during the DJ U04 programme at 4pm on Saturdays.
Yuk-ching, the youngest candidate, said she learned that a DJ had to work very hard and had to get a lot of training.
