Three Hongkong Electric customers yesterday admitted to cheating the power company by tampering with residential meters, while three women denied similar charges involving HKE and CLP Power. Hairstylist Lam Sau-king, 44, and wholesaler Chan Pak-sun, 47, each pleaded guilty in Eastern Court to a charge of conspiracy to defraud. Lam's brother, computer analyst Chi-keung, 40, admitted two charges. In Western Court, Choi Wai-fun, Leung Sau-ying and Lo Mei-fung pleaded not guilty to similar charges. Meanwhile, a CLP writ filed in the High Court seeks $813,000 from Chung Fart-wan for alleged meter tampering for almost five years.
