Don't call me plastic

Canto-pop star Eason Chan Yick-shun has revealed he had a secret weapon that protected him from the bullying he endured at an English boarding school - his poor hearing.

'For example, I couldn't tell the difference between plastic and spastic,' he tells this month's edition of Talkies magazine, in an interview about his childhood. So when the other boys at Dauntsey's School circled him and shouted taunts, the future star would say: 'Why are you calling me plastic?'

Dauntsey's Old Boy's Association held a reunion in February last year. Chan did not attend.
