Valery Garrett wrote to these columns on December 2 about the surveys conducted on RoadShow's multi-media on-board (MMOB) service. Ms Garrett suggests that the question put to interviewees by independent market research company AC Nielsen should be re-worded: 'Would you like to be bombarded with inane advertisements and dubious infotainment, or be left in peace?' in favour of the current wording: 'Do you like/not like the programmes on buses?' We feel that there is little to be gained by guiding the respondent's answer through asking such a leading question, since this would affect the validity of the survey results.
