He has worked in Japan at Simpson Thacher and Nishimura & Partners. Mr Schwab joins the law firm's US law group in Tokyo. Lufthansa German Airlines has appointed Hans DeHaan general manager for southern China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Based in Hong Kong, Mr DeHaan will oversee the company's offices and operations, sales and marketing activities in this market. He has held several managerial positions at KLM in Canada since 1985, overseeing a range of operations including sales and marketing. He joined Lufthansa in Canada in 1997, and became general manager for the Netherlands, based in Amsterdam, in 1998. Last year, he served as general manager for Benelux, directing the operations in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. He has chaired the Board of Airline Representatives in the Netherlands since 2000. Brent Robinson Deputy head of research ING Financial Markets Mr Robinson joins the equities division in Hong Kong to cover Asia ex-Japan. His primary focus will be to drive the positioning, packaging, marketing and distribution of all research products for the region. He will be responsible for the investment review committee, working closely with the regional head of research for Asia ex-Japan, Adrian Faure, and the country and sector heads in Asia. Mr Robinson joined from Merrill Lynch, where he had spent 16 years. Since 2000, he has been deputy head of Asian research. He has more than eight years' experience in the Asia-Pacific broadcast industry, with a career spanning TV, radio and the Internet. With 16 years' experience in the information-technology industry, he was previously senior architect manager at LINE, a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa, where he was responsible for the company's technical direction.
