Hong Kong's Chan Wai-kei improved one notch to occupy 15th place overall in the women's fleet at the World Windsurfing Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, yesterday. Chan was the only Hong Kong sailor who made any headway in the standings after the youngster came 14th in race eight to finish behind overall race leader and 1992 Barcelona Olympic champion Barbara Kendall. The race was won by Frenchwoman Lise Vidal. Chan Wai-man was struggling in 37th place overall after finishing 42nd. There was more bad news in the men's fleet where Chan King-yin sits in 30th place overall after finishing 44th, Cheng Kwok-fai is 32nd overall after crossing the line in 42nd place, while Ho Chi-ho had another forgettable race when he sailed in 36th place to occupy 38th overall.
