Barney Cheng is keeping his head down this Christmas. The hot fashion designer has been asked to take a break from clothes and create a series of 'couture carpets' to coincide with the February opening of Tai Ping's new carpet store in the Prince's Building. The commission came after Cheng (left) designed a rug as part of a recent charity fund-raiser for Mother's Choice. 'I'm pysched,' he told SAR. 'It's great to work in new fields.'

And he added nothing would please him more than if a couple were to use his luxury and high-textured carpets 'for something very intimate'.
