The body of a girl - believed to be missing 11-year-old Chan Lok-man - has been found in a concrete-covered drain outside the village house where another missing girl was found murdered on Friday.
The naked body was recovered by divers after firemen dug open the freshly cemented cover. Lok-man disppeared on December 4 after leaving home to go shopping.
The discovery came 20 hours after police found the body of 10-year-old Yim Pui-shan trussed in a blanket and stuffed in a wardrobe on the upper floor of a two-storey house in Kung Um Road, Pak Sha Village, Yuen Long.
It was here that Tong Wing-keung, a Vietnamese-Chinese, held his own three children hostage and tried to blow them and himself up on Friday.
Last night, Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa condemned the killings, saying: 'I am shocked and saddened to hear of the deaths of two girls in Yuen Long. I condemn such brutal acts of violence and would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims.
'I have full confidence in the police in maintaining law and order. The culprit will be brought to justice after investigation. The Social Welfare Department is doing their best to render assistance to the families of the victims and the children injured in the incident.'
