HSBC and Bank of East Asia (BEA) yesterday separately announced they had launched retail Internet banking services in China, becoming the first two foreign banks to offer such services. The services include account balances, transaction inquiries and money transfers. HSBC subsidiary Hang Seng Bank said it would launch retail Internet services in China today.
