PARK TRAILS RUINED BY POINTLESS RAILINGS

I have lived in Hong Kong for nearly 25 years and enjoy walking in our excellent country parks.

I would like to invite Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa to accompany me one afternoon.

This is to show him what his government is doing to ruin the many trails on Hong Kong Island.

It started a few years ago with the concreting of many footpaths that did not need it.

We now have a situation with miles of railings being installed on the many delightful catchwaters.

Why is this now necessary? The catchwaters have been there, in some cases, for more than 100 years.
