Mainland consumer electronics maker TCL International Holdings sold 8.02 million television sets and 6.21 million mobile phones last year, exceeding its annual targets by a wide margin.
The firm had set annual sales targets of seven million TVs and five million handsets for last year.
Domestic TV sales rose 22.4 per cent to 6.72 million units last year, while exports surged 75.5 per cent to about 1.3 million units.
The unaudited sales figures released yesterday showed TCL remained the mainland's second-largest TV maker.
The mainland's largest maker, Sichuan Changhong Electronics, said sales volume surged 78 per cent last year to more than 11 million units, due to increased exports.
The company said the growth made Changhong the world's second-largest TV set maker in terms of production and sales volume, just behind South Korea's Samsung.
