Hong Kong's 2004 Olympic triathlon hope Claire Murray has encouraged competitors in tomorrow's Bonaqua Youth Challenge to dig deep and find their 'inner strength'.
Organised by Seyon Asia, which was behind the Hong Kong AXN Challenge last April, the adventure race in Tai Tam Country Park aims to promote sports as a rewarding experience, both mentally and physically, apart from being a test of athleticism.
Murray, ranked 139 in the world, is training for the Olympics under Bonaqua sponsorship and she knows what it takes to finish a gruelling multi-sport race.
'My tip for everyone would be to remember that the pain is only temporary, but the memories and sense of achievement will last forever,' said Murray, a
winner of nine international races last year.
'That thought is something that has got me through some tough times - especially in Ironman races,' added the 27-year-old, who works for a major financial firm.
