Consumer electronics maker TCL International Holdings' mobile-phone-making associate has joined forces with Britain's TTP Communications to develop advanced models for the European market.

The partnership will enable TCL Mobile Communication to make a fast-tracked foray into the European market, according to TTP Communications managing director Tony Milbourn.

Under the agreement, TCL Mobile will gain immediate access to a comprehensive range of the British partner's technology.

The first product under development is a multi-media messaging services-enabled camera phone. The product, which features a large colour screen and downloadable games, is expected to be launched in the next six months.

The partnership could be a step closer to TCL Mobile's goal of becoming the world's No 5 handset maker within the next three years.
