Most inkjet printers use vegetable-based inks, which fade in time. Many now use mineral-based black inks, which are much more durable, but one of the most important components of a long-lasting print is the paper. Acids seeping from the material on which an image is printed are often the main cause of yellowing and fading. Epson's ColorLife photo paper is designed to last for about 25 years without fading, and can be ordered from any Epson dealer for $116 for a pack of 20 sheets.
