More on the media baron slug-out between Charles Ho Tsu-kwok and Jimmy Lai Chee-ying. On Monday, Ho (above left) - whose Global China Group Holdings includes the 65-year-old Sing Tao Daily - challenged Next Media boss Lai (above right) to a debate on media ethics at the Coliseum. He was outraged over Apple Daily and Next Magazine publishing pictures of a private school tutor allegedly molesting a young pupil in a hotel room. But we wonder if the bad blood between the media barons doesn't go back a little further - to a December issue of Apple which published a paparazzi photograph of Ho having a meal with a group of people, including a beautiful woman who was not his wife. The photograph clearly antagonised Ho. He took out ads in his own paper pointing out that some of the people at the table had been wrongly identified and held a press conference slamming Lai. If the pair do meet, they'd better have a referee and keep the slugging to 12 rounds.
