Having just spent two delightful weeks in Hong Kong I would like to convey, through these columns, a big thank you to all the Chinese people who were so helpful and courteous.

I live in London and sadly boorish behaviour and rudeness seem to be the norm. It is claimed that is the downside of large modern cities. Hong Kong proved me wrong and it was so wonderful a visit that I am certainly going to be returning.

Hong Kong is exciting and the sights are truly wonderful. The food is world class, but the real treasure is the people.
