I am writing to implore somebody in the government to put a stop to the vandalism that is about to occur on Middle Gap path.
I have been running around there for the past 40 years. I can understand the concrete which has been laid to install pylons.
However, to pour concrete over what is left of the original path is just unwarranted destruction.
Sir Cecil's Ride from Wong Nai Chung Gap to Mount Butler Road, which was a lovely dirt trail, has been buried under concrete, as have many other parts of our beautiful countryside.
We have a Country Parks Authority and an Environmental Protection Department, but they seem uninterested in this wanton destruction, so can someone else try and stop it forthwith?
I would have addressed this matter to Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa. However, it has become obvious that he has absolutely no control over his various department heads and an appeal to him would be useless.
