Hong Kong-listed liquid-crystal display panel manufacturer JIC Technology has acquired a 5 per cent equity stake in iMagic Infomedia Technology in its first diversification move. The company, controlled by New-York listed Nam Tai Electronics, said it would continue to eye acquisition opportunities in Hong Kong. Under the deal, JIC has invested about HK$4 million for the stake in iMagic, the parent company of Internet payphone provider PowerPhone.
