The Peak Cafe, the landmark bar and restaurant that closed amid wails and acrimony two years ago, will re-open next month - nowhere near The Peak. The much-loved eatery is being shoehorned into a site in SoHo next to the escalator. The views (of Shelley Street) certainly won't match those of the old Peak Cafe (now called the Peak Lookout), but co-owner Martin Allies insists the old ambience will transfer nicely. 'The name is not about location, but great food and service,' he said. Grant Baird, operations manager of the Epicurean Group, which runs the Peak Lookout, sees things differently. 'I'm lost for words,' he said yesterday.
