Chan Kwok-kong, 56, a teacher at a Catholic primary school in Shek Kip Mei, appeared before North Kowloon magistrates yesterday, accused of twisting the ear of a Primary Five student on November 14 after catching him talking in class. The 10-year-old student was left with a wound requiring four stitches. Chan, who was granted $1,000 bail, pleaded not guilty to a charge of cruelty to a child.
