The German Swiss International School (GSIS)'s Traum Theatre Company will be staging its annual production, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, later this week.

Staged by more than 50 students from the international and German streams aged between 12 and 19, the production promises two hours of 'delightful and fine acting'.

A Midsummer Night's Dream tells the story of two couples - Hermia and Lysander, Helena and Demetrius - whose romantic affairs are further complicated by their entrance into the fairyland woods where the king and queen of the fairies (Oberon and Titania) live. Another set of characters, a band of 'rude mechanicals' in preparation for a hopeful performance at the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Athens (Theseus and Hippolyta), also enter the land of the fairies.

Their stories in the forest are intertwined and the play ends happily with a marriage ceremony. The play features a stunning backdrop and outstanding cast.

The production took the students almost half a year to prepare.
